Tidewater are based in St Louis and have just released their new 3 song EP 'The Beautiful Life'. Produced by Kevin Gales, frontman man Brett Allen and the producer have given us a real taster of what this band can do.

Brett has one of those intriguing voices, like Owl City, that captures your attention from the off. This can be heard during opening number Not Just Any Love, accompanied with banjo, mandolin and bass in the verses until that big wall of sound in the chorus that we have come so accustomed to with anthemic songs of late. This is a beautiful tune, and the track has to be commended. This opening track is a traditional pop/rock big sounding song and it's done extremely well.
Title track The Beautiful Life has a very simple chorus of "This is the life, this is the life... the beautiful life". Not the most creative of lyrics perhaps, but the electro uptempo nature of the song is your classic 3 minute radio friendly track and it works well. Desire opens with some stuttering orchestral work and it isn't long until there is a frantic bass dance beat, although maybe a little bit too much going on with this at the start.
Tidewater have created three strong tracks with their futuristic pop rock beats, providing a pleasurable experience to listen to. You are left wanting more after these three tracks are over, and you will certainly have a fun time listening to these techno-beat based songs, overlaid with soulful and heartwarming vocals.
