What grabs you from the start of this album is that Anita has this voice that is so full of quality that you can listen to it time and time again. Her voice is stunning, it's rich, powerful, and a joy to listen to. It always sounds like she is happy, the way she belts out the songs with such ease. I don't think there are many vocalists who can do that and still have the same upbeat passion flowing from the words. This has to be one of the main qualities of this release.
Vintage Worship is full of style and funky soulful music, songs that are easy to listen to. These are the kind of songs that will leave you with a smile on your face, no matter how you are feeling or however many times you listen to them. Once I put this album on, I was smiling from ear to ear, I could have listened to the songs 'You Love Me' and 'Gooder Than Good' all day.
For all the upbeat moments of the album, there are also some wonderful gospel-inspired slower, though provoking songs. The hushed tone of 'Everything' is truly wonderful, and the same can be said of the song 'Reason'. These are two top songs that leave you with a real sense of God being our everything.
If you are looking for an album that will make you smile on a dark rainy day then this collection of soulful tunes is the perfect pick me up. All together this is a great album with so much going on. Yet the greatest part of the albums is the truth in the lyrics and the way they are put across to the listener. You will be left with a smile and a joyful heart when you hear this album. From the beginning of the album until the end, this is praise music to get you dancing and worshipping.
