Audrey Assad Launches 'Heart' Ahead Of Tour With JJ Heller

Feb 16 2012

The second album from 28-year-old singer-songwriter Audrey Assad, 'Heart', has now been released. The 12-track album spent its release day, appropriately enough Valentine's Day, at Number 1 on the iTunes Christian Albums chart. The album sees the singer collaborating with songwriters including Matt Maher and Derek Webb, and was produced by Marshall Altman (Brooke Fraser, Natasha Bedingfield, Marc Broussard).

"I worked on Heart with all of my heart, and I am so, so proud of it," says Assad. "In both its strengths and its inevitable weaknesses, it was crafted with as much humanity and honesty as I could summon - I love this music, and I can't wait to share it with the world."

'Heart' is the follow up to Audrey's critically acclaimed debut release, 'The House You're Building' (2010), which was named Amazon.com's Best Christian Music of 2010, while iTunes dubbed the album Breakthrough Album of the Year for the Christian & Gospel genre. Audrey will join with singer/songwriter JJ Heller for a spring co-headlining tour from 23rd March until 26th April.
