Speak Brother Release 'Slow To Now' Single Ahead Of New EP
Rugby-based trio Speak Brother have released their brand new single 'Slow To Now', ahead of a new EP out in September.
"Quite often, we find ourselves imagining a life that is better than what we have right now", explains the band. "The If only's, the What might be's... They are sometimes the fruits of regret or the fear of failure. But most of the time, they are the result of the overriding pressure that's on us, everyday.
This pressure can drive us away from the very thing that I believe we truly, desperately want. Companionship. It's not found in tomorrow, next week, or some day. But right now. Dreams and desires are good. But what good are they, if you're on your own in them?
'Slow to Now' is now a constant reminder to me every time we play it to make the most of the people around me, right now."
Speak Brother have been compared to Athlete, Ben Howard and The Swell Season, and their self-titled debut EP earned airplay across the UK and beyond.
They have appeared on stages from folk clubs to festivals including The Great Escape and Wychwood Festival, whilst earning an honourable mention at the 2014 International Songwriters’ Competition final thanks to acclaimed single Dry Bones.
Boasting a powerful sound and full arrangements, the trio layer lush vocal harmonies over their rustic instrumentation, with heartfelt lyrical storytelling, driving melodies and passionate performance.
