Jim Rogers Releasing New EP 'Wake The Song'
Jim Rogers, a worship leader and songwriter based in Romsey on the South Coast of England, releases his new EP titled 'Wake the Song' on June 2nd. The album includes the single 'Keep Me Burning' which is accompanied by a video (see below).
Jim is passionate to see the people of God awake and alert to the songs that their king is singing over them and in turn living lives and singing songs back to him. Whether it is on the platform on a Sunday, in the songwriting room, or in any other aspect of life, it is Jim’s hope and prayer that his life will point people to the one who is the friend and king we all need and are seeking, whether we realise it or not. He is a songwriter of rare vintage, one who is always seeking to reach the deepest levels of integrity and intimacy in communicating what he perceives to be on God’s heart, whilst presenting his songs in a way which helps them speak and to be accessible to both individuals and for Churches to sing corporately.
Wake the Song, is an exciting new chapter in Jim’s own developing story. His debut album, The Grandeur and the Grace was the start of things, back in 2007. More recently, time spent in The Bright Expression saw him contribute hugely to their fine album Bone By Bone, produced by Gabriel Wilson (Bethel, The Listening).
Now, Jim has returned to his first love as a folk-tinged worship leader and singer of songs for the people of God to sing. Produced by Harun Kotch, this is a collection of songs that both sound good and beat with the heart of God. Born out of the everyday experiences of life as a Christian, seeing God at work but also longing for justice, for peace to come and for mercy to be shown and to be recognised, this is Jim and his wife Nat at their most honest, heartfelt and open. These are songs which soundtrack their life as a family and Jim’s work as a worship pastor in Romsey. Their sole purpose is to glorify God and to make him known. Wake The Song is just the start. As a new song has been awakened within him, so it seems that a bubbling up is taking place as more and more songs flow out of Jim.
