Keith & Kristyn Getty Release 'Awaken The Dawn'

Aug 10 2009

Keith & Kristyn Getty released their new album 'Awaken The Dawn' last week, featuring modern hymns from the talented musical couple. Keith already has a reputation as a provider of sublime orchestral scores, and the couple are well known for co-writing some of the world's most popular worship songs today, 'In Christ Alone' and 'See, What a Morning' with Stuart Townend.

The album has been two years in the making, and explaining why they like to write hymns, Keith says: "First, it's to help teach the faith. What we sing affects how we think, how we feel and ultimately how we live, so it's so important that we sing the whole scope of truth the Bible has given us. The second reason is to try and create a more timeless musical style that every generation can sing, a style that relates to the past and the future."

Included with the CD is a unique fifteen minute DVD that explores the stories behind the hymns. This special feature shows Keith and Kristyn talk, record and perform the songs.
