Immersion Worship Band Working On Follow-Up To Debut EP 'We Lift You Up'

Sep 25 2017

Immersion Worship Band, the worship team of Gethsemane Church in Evansville, Indiana led by Pastor Dale Culbertson, have revealed they have started work on a new album to follow up their debut worship project, 'We Lift You Up'. Their 6 song debut EP, released late last year, was a collection of songs written specifically to encourage worship and to encourage those who hear them to lift up the name of Jesus.

"I came to the church in 2012, and being a songwriter, it was kind of the last piece of the puzzle", explains Immersion Worship Band's Kevin Barnett. "We began working on songs that I had written. We knew there was something starting, and we ran with it. We raised the money to go into the studio to record our very first EP. The church had always been on the cutting edge but now the music was definitely changing and taking it to another level. We started the recording in 2015, towards the last leg of the recording, I became ill with a rare disease called Gullian Barre. It is a neurological disease that attacks the nerves and paralyzes an individual. I was on a ventilator, in ICU for 7 weeks. A couple of times I almost did not make it. The CD could have never been finished.

But God had other plans. I had a multitude of people praying for me, all over the world. God raised me up out of that and I have shared my story with many people and hope to share it with many more. The band has begun preliminary work on a new CD, we are still in the writing stages, but a couple of songs have been started for the recording process.

With all the music that is out there, we believe what we have to offer is that we are a worship band. God's presence is so important in our daily lives. We love to see God's people worship Him and we enjoy leading the songs that God has given us."

Describing themselves, the band said, "Immersion is not just a name, but a desire to be completely immersed in His presence when we worship. Without His presence, what's the point?

Immersion Worship Band is made up of worshippers and musicians who serve faithfully in the church every weekend. This new journey has allowed us to step out and record songs that were birthed in our home church and now we get to share with the world."
