Lurine Cato Joins B Positive Choir For 'Rise Up' Single In Support of the Give More Blood Campaign

Dec 14 2017

Lurine Cato has joined with the B Positive Choir to record the 'Rise Up' single and perform it at the MOBO Awards. The B Positive Choir is made up of people who suffer from sickle cell anaemia and other blood disorders, their family, friends and health professionals. The aim of the song is to encourage as many people as possible, especially young people from black and ethnic minorities, to save lives by giving blood.

Following on from the 2017 MOBO performance Lurine will go on a tour with the B Positive Choir to promote the single 'Rise Up', originally sung by Andra Day. Lurine and the B Positive choir are set to appear at the Houses of Parliament, GMTV, Loose Women and the One Show leading up to the single's release on all digital service providers on the 10th December 2017. Lurine will embark on her own solo tours in 2018 including a tour of South Africa.

Dubbed Queen of UK Gospel, London based Gospel singer/songwriter Lurine Cato remains one of the most sought after independent vocal artists with that rare ability to appeal to a wide variety of audiences. Her distinctive brand of music is infused with inspirational undertones of faith, hope and love, a central theme to the material she writes that resonates with an eclectic mix of music lovers. A 2013 MOBO Award recipient (Best Gospel Act) and 2017 MOBO nominee (Best Gospel Act), Lurine was a featured act at the 2017 MOBO Awards held in Leeds, UK with the B Positive choir, a partnership between the MOBOs and NHS Blood and Transplant. Also appearing at this year’s MOBOs were Cardi B, Stormzy and Idris Elba.
