Dutch Band Trinity Offer Free Single 'Alive Again' Ahead Of New Album

Jun 21 2018

Trinity, a unique Dutch four-piece band who mix music styles from all over the world to create a magnetic sound, are offering their new single 'Alive Again' as a free download on their website. The song is the first single from their forthcoming new album 'The In Between', produced and recorded in the USA with multi Dove Award-winning producer Ian Eskelin and Barry Weeks.

From Peruvian Folk to African Rhythms, this genre-blending pop band makes music that is sweet to the ears and uplifting to the soul. These four Dutch guys, of which three are brothers, make heavenly parties where you’ll feel at home in no time.

"What is the secret to being fully alive?", asks the band. "Why does it sometimes feel like you’re stuck. Life doesn’t look anything like the life you imagined when you were a kid. You feel like something has stopped the flow. That you’ve lost the connection with the Divine.

In the past few years I’ve gone through faith deconstruction. All my concepts about God, faith and consequently life itself, fell apart. On the one hand, I was glad to get rid of the old stuff, but on the other hand it felt empty and scary to not have it all figured out. I missed God. Or maybe I should say I missed my old God, and the feeling of knowing how it all worked with Him.

As a band of brothers we’ve always been bushcrafters and fans of the wild. We used to go on long holidays and roam Scandinavia by car or canoe. It’s so satisfying to wake up in the middle of nature and jump into an ice cold lake, before having your first coffee of the day straight from a real fire. I remember canoeing out on the lake at sundown and talking to God as a youngster. I’d feel so close to Him and enveloped by His awesome creation.

So on one side there is doubt and carefully plotting out what I still do believe. And on the other side there are these moments of feeling fully connected. These two contrasting ‘scenes’ and the tension between them is what gave birth to this song. ‘This is the day that the Lord has made’, says the Bible in Psalm 88. Maybe the key to making sense of life is realising that we’re called to be in the now. Attentive to what God is doing. Ready for action. Today."
