The Luke Project Planning To Record Entire Gospel Over 5 Albums

Aug 01 2018

A group calling itself The Luke Project has set out to record the entire gospel of Luke written into song, word for word from the NASB translation. Each character will be sung by a different person making it easy to follow. They plan to record the songs over the course of 5 albums, with the first album of 24 songs releasing on September 11th.

"I've been writing scripture songs for the last couple of years to help believers in memorizing scripture and to have the Word of God floating around in their hearts. In 2015, God started laying on my heart to write the entire gospel of Luke into song, word for word", explains Kacey Walkingstick. "My purpose for this project is helping you have scripture in your head and heart and for reaching non-believers in a new way with the Word of God.

It’s really motivating for me when one of these scripture songs enters my head randomly throughout the day or sometimes directly after praying. Sometimes God uses them to answer my prayers. Other times, God has used it to encourage me when I’m feeling down. It has even helped in my 2 sons’ Bible study times. They won’t sit and listen to me read the Word, but they will listen to me sing it! This drives me forward in my writing every day because I want the world to experience this as well!

My ultimate dream for this project is for Christians to know the gospel so well, they can share it with the world without missing a beat. I would also love to see non-believers experience the gospel in a new way or for the first time. Maybe they’ve read it before and part of it didn’t make sense. Maybe they got bored or just chose to not believe. I’m praying that God will bring it to life for them- make it real- make it personal- and add to His kingdom!"
