The 13th Chapter And when you hear of wars and rumors O fear ye not, for such things must needs be Look to yourselves, the end is not just yet As nations rise and kingdoms come undone And when they shall betray and lead you off Be not thoughtful before of what to speak What's given you in that dark hour, This shall you speak, for it is not of you It is not of you... And what I say to you, I say to all Take ye heed, watch and pray For you know not the time or day For you know not the time or day Then all the stars of heaven shall be falling down And from the four winds, they shall all gather around Endure until the end, endure until the end Cause what I say to you, I say to all Take ye heed, watch and pray For you know not the time or day For you know not the time or day

This is What You Asked For This is where you were, three days ago This is what you asked for, when you were young You could not believe what, they're saying now You turned the corner to find, they're underground Your patience is waning away, who knows where But there's so much more that you can take, the strength's there

King of Kings / After That Last Day After every stone has been thrown down, to the ground We'll all come out to look around To see what's left of our old hometown To hear the voice of many waters, without borders And all the tears shall be wiped away No more mourning, no more mourning The former things have all passed away No question of what is real or fake King of kings and Lord of lords And though the sun and the moon are no longer shining, it's not frightening Cause what we once thought was light before Was just a glimpse of what was always in store Never again will there be a curse Only fulfillment of what we heard King of kings and Lord of lords After that last day...

about

The King of Kings EP is the third formal record from Richmond, Virginia's Peter Johnston RVA. Released on the Feast of Christ the King on November 22, 2020, the record attempts to create an upbeat soundtrack to the end of times and the anticipation thereof. Christians are called to welcome and have confidence in Christ's return, which on a purely human level is at once both awe inspiring and completely terrifying. These songs are a humble attempt to reconcile these conflicting feelings, while providing a balm for the anxious heart and mind. While the end of the world may be millennia away...or tomorrow, this release hopes to purposefully and reflectively fill approximately ten minutes in the interim.

"But we think thus because we keep on assuming that we know the play. We do not know the play. We do not even know whether we are in Act I or Act V. We do not know who are the major and who the minor characters. The Author knows. The audience, if there is an audience (if angels and archangels and all the company of heaven fill the pit and the stalls) may have an inkling.

But we, never seeing the play from outside, never meeting any characters except the tiny minority who are "on" in the same scenes as ourselves, wholly ignorant of the future and very imperfectly informed about the past, cannot tell at what moment the end ought to come. That it will come when it ought, we may be sure; but we waste our time in guessing when that will be. That it has a meaning we may be sure, but we cannot see it. When it is over, we may be told. We are led to expect that the Author will have something to say to each of us on the part that each of us has played. The playing it well is what matters infinitely."

about

Peter Johnston RVA Richmond, Virginia

To put it simply, Peter Johnston RVA is Catholic indie rock; you
wouldn't hear this at mass, but it does try to prove that traditional Catholic thought and indie rock are not mutually exclusive. It began easily enough as a few home recordings but has slowly turned into a full on project that explores matters of human dignity and common good in society.
Sincerely yours,
Peter Johnston RVA
