Editorial Reviews

2009 release from this Alt-Rock band formed by Underoath member Aaron Gillespie along with guitarists Jay Vilardi and Dusty Redmon, bassist Alex Aponte and newest drummer Joe Musten, The Almost's Monster Monster represents the culmination of two years of touring, with the resulting disc a melding of the group's individual talents into a truly collaborative effort. Gillespie, who originally started the band as a side project and played all the instruments on The Almost's first album, is thrilled the way the group began to mesh on Monster Monster, and the band itself is raring to go out and play the new songs for their rabid, loyal fan base.

I am an avid fan of The Almost, and Underoath (the singer's other band he drums and sings in). The last album the had (Southern Weather) was very upbeat punky pop rock. I was so addicted to this CD and flipped when I heard they were releasing another album. I loved the driving beats and fast paced songs. I was very disappointed with Monster Monster at first. I was totally expecting an album like the last. I hate this album and put it to the side. Well it's several months and when I felt like listening to some chill music I put this album on and now I'm addicted. Although, different, and very unlike The Almost's previous album this album still offers catchy tunes, creative lyrics, and overall good music, not to mention some great worship and tribute to God (which may or not matter to you, but I enjoy it, and that shouldn't affect the listening enjoyment of this album either way).

I am not sure if this is better than southern weather, but after listening to it 5 or 10 times, the songs are really starting to grow on me. The cd sure has its standout track, and the others are very good as well. No song is bad. there is a lot of diversity as far as style on the album. Aaron also sounds very different in his singing style for this album. Overall it is very good. Unfortunately there is not song comparable to amazing because it is from the southern weather album. Overall a great cd, and you can expect a lot more now that this is Aaron's full time band not a side project any more.

The Almost give you every emotion in this album, without lacking lyrically or musically.

Each song has intense depth and remain catchy. Aaron masters each song and will move your soul with his beautiful voice.

Can't get enough of this CD.

Perfect for believers who want a little something more in their music.

I've been on a vinyl frenzy for the last few months and ordered a few including this one. The shipping was fast, the vinyl came sealed and in excellent condition! I have yet to open it and throw it on my player! It looks too crispy to tear open!
