Now Erica has released a five track mini album titled 'Take Your Burden Down'. This compact yet interesting release opens up with two stunning summer pop songs in 'Burden' and 'Without You'. Both track have great harmonies throughout and Erica's vocals compliment this kind of upbeat, happy go-lucky sound. These are the kind of songs that will leave you with a smile on your face.
The album moves on to the track 'Do You Know', which can only be described as your big ballad number. This song shows the amazing vocal range of Erica. There aren't too many artists that can sing pop songs and then belt out a ballad like this. The song has a few key changes and is such a powerful song that you can not help but be impressed with the tone of the voice. This song might be big and powerful, but at the same time it is such a tender caring song.
I really wasn't expecting what came next on the album. Erica has put together a cover of the Dolly Parton Classic 'Jolene'. A great song loved and enjoyed by many and Erica has created a version that isn't too different to the original. But again this song shows off how strong Erica's vocals are.
The mini album ends with the beautiful and heartwarming 'You And I Are One'. This song has some great creative guitars mixed together with a male and female vocal, working together to create a wonderful sound. The way this song just works is brilliant, it has had time and energy put into it to produce a stunning closing track.
There is a very simple way to sum this album up. Two upbeat fresh summer sounding songs, two beautiful ballads and a cover of a classic. What you get is good, strong, interesting and beautiful. Erica uses her vocal range to great effect on all of these songs. My only complaint is of course that I would have loved to have heard more tracks! This is a really loving, tender, beautiful mini album with so much going on.
