“These are songs that we have wrestled through and prayed for,” says Michael Farren, worship pastor for Franklin, TN’s Gateway Church, producer of My Pursuit and president of All About Worship. “They are songs that are prayer conversations for the Church during this season. Songs that we hope will help worship leaders to be better shepherds and pastors… we wrote these songs with one thought in mind, ‘Can I lead this on Sunday?’”

You can tell from the off that the songs on this particular album have been set up so they can be led on a Sunday morning by anybody. If you sing, play guitar, or piano, it doesn't matter - these songs are for all to use. Actually this is even true in all aspects of these songs. The melody lines seem to flow very easily yet don't sound repetitive and over used. The songs actually sound like I already knew them, there is an ease to the songs, even a familiarity. Why? I don't know. But they work.

As there is a different vocalist on each of the tracks, the album doesn't flow as nicely as it could. Yet each track stands on its own very well. If you're looking for a collection of individual songs to take to your church worship team leaders, then this isn't the worst place at all to start. Some songs will work for the set up of your church and some will not, but I'm sure those songs will work in a different church with a different worship team. There is something for everyone here. All these songs point to God, as the name says, 'All About Worship' this album is all about that.
