The moment I pressed play on opening track 'Warrior' I instantly enjoyed the song and couldn't wait to hear more. The attitude of the guitar tone at the start of this track is phenomenal. But this isn't a rock EP. This EP has everything musically going on but at the heart of it is a warm and powerful soulful EP with big vocals and a big heart that has a lot of self confidence.

Koryn Hawthorne is an American gospel and soul singer. Hawthorne is best known for being a finalist in season 8 of NBC's reality TV singing competition The Voice, placing fourth place. She was a member on Pharrell Williams' team.

Now back to the music. So after the energy and excitement of the first track, I was ready for another big and powerful track, yet what we get next is a tender worship song with strings and piano. Here is the moment you get to experience the amazing vocals of Koryn. They are not only unique they also have this power that not many artists can seem to re-create on a recording. She has this voice that cares about what she is singing. It's like these words are words Koryn believes no matter what, and she wants you to believe them too. "Your name is holy my strong, my strong tower" is sung with such honesty and meaning, she makes these powerful words sound even more important.

If you wanted another track to show off the different vocal styles of Koryn, then the song 'Reasons' is another step in a different direction. If I was asked to say who Koryn sounds like I would have to say she does sound a bit like Lauren Hill. Reasons is a happy, uplifting pop, RnB Gospel track. It's that sound that also continues for 'Won't He Do It (Remix)'.

I am truly impressed with this EP and Koryn. You don't get to fourth place on a TV show if you can't sing. Yet it's the energy of this EP that draws the listener in, that and the stunning vocals of course . I would highly recommend this EP. If I was a music trip advisor I would say Vocals : 5 Star, Songs : 5 Star, Sound : 5 Star, Overall : 5 Stars - Would love to hear more.
