See&C, a Rochester, Minnesota music collaboration between Chanou and Chad Hewitt, have released an EP titled 'Swords to Shovels', produced by Matt Pattrick and assisted by session musicians Jasper Nephew and Alex Young. The title is derived from Isaiah 2:4 "they shall beat their swords into plowshares". In a world of constant peace, weapons are useless and reformed into something useful.

Chanou grew up in the jungles of Laos. War forced his family into a refugee camp and they later legally immigrated to the United States. Music is an important part of his Lahu culture and journey. A big part of Chanou's life is spending time with his wife, kids, and extended family. He is also a great chef who co-owns Hog Thai Catering in Rochester.

Tragedy was the catalyst for Chad's songwriting of the music for See&C. Writing the lyrics and music was part of the process of finding meaning and hope.

What I could tell from listening to this EP is that the most amazing effort has been put into these songs and the recording. The EP oozes quality and See&C have crafted together some truly amazing songs.

Starting with an acoustic guitar which steadily leads the rhythm of the song, the opening song is so powerful. The chorus of 'Dust And Your Breath' declares, "when I finally see you and I run to you, words will fail me, I’m speechless". This mid tempo song about meeting God at our final hour is such a great listen.

'Breathe Life In Me Again' sounds like a mix of a Delirious track and an Ian Yates song. There is an indie rock edge to this song. 'Stillness and Quiet' is actually the most rocky track here despite it's title! But that's what we find with this release, nothing is how it seems.

From track one you might think this is a mid tempo acoustic rock album, but it's so much more than that. This album has been crafted so well that it is a total joy to listen to, and also an exciting experience to hear such great quality music. If you have never seen or heard of See&C please check this EP out as soon as you can as we highly recommend it.
