Entitled '7even', the album has a wide ambit of ingenuity - ranging from captivating and imaginative lyrics, to more colorful moments; all laced with creative melodies. This much anticipated sophomore project embodies all that his avid followers will enjoy, while promising to be an exciting introduction to others.
Owing to the range of songs on the album, it guarantees to uplift the listener, provide relatable and inspiring metaphors of everyday struggles, whilst also providing an insight into JayEss' own spiritual walk. Additionally, '7even' presents a more mature JayEss as it's been five years since his debut, 'Genesis Snapshots'. Even then, JayEss had already been marked out as one of the most innovative wordsmiths among an elite group of UK rappers.
He commented, "I'm honored that I would be considered one of the UK's innovative wordsmiths. It's a God given gift which I use to rap about the reality of Christian living. And I don't divorce the reality of being a Christian from some of the wider issues that can impact us like racism, money and much more."
Always committed to the development of his craft, JayEss has been industriously touring the States. He was also able to release two mix-tapes entitled, 'Good Friday' and 'Walking by Faith' respectively.
The latter work saw JayEss partner with a blind charity in order to bring awareness to the obstacles faced by blind people on a day-to-day basis. The purpose of this collaboration was to glean life lessons from blind people that can be incorporated into everyday lives.
A MOBO, Stellar and Dove award nominee, JayEss won the 2013 Best International Artist at the Gospel Music Awards in Italy.
'7even' continues to show-case the range that JayEss is celebrated for, with its eclectic mix of feature artists that he believes best complement his progressive style and the message of hope and determination. The album includes songs such as 'Going In' (first single featuring Rell Riley) 'Good Friday', 7even (Remix), Homesick, Forgive Me and many more.
