"People mentioned that they wanted me to take it down a notch," Jammin says. "They want to be soothed and inspired. Most of all, they want to hear about my new journey that started after Fresh Blood, my freshman album."
This album, titled 'Found My Soul In The Dungeon', talks about relief from addiction, mental illness, trauma, and paranoia that has haunted Jammin most of her life. It is an album of prayers set to piano music, and a few instrumental tracks. "I am really excited to see how this album is received because it is so different from my first album which was Alternative Hip Hop," Jammin says.
Jammin, aka Jill Niebuhr, lives a spiritually devoted life. “I found myself really struggling without a spiritual program and I appreciate the gifts of the spirit when they’re working in my life. I think it’s safe to say, I can’t turn back now. I have come to an understanding with my Creator that I couldn’t earlier on in life, so I had to learn the hard way on what I would be missing out on.”
"Before the album creation began, I would spend mornings in prayer and listening to soaking music when one day I thought, I should put my prayers to music and I knew right away that it was exactly what I needed to do. Soaking music is music that is a direct link to the presence of the Holy Spirit. I posted my personal community on Facebook about it and they really liked the idea. It was confirmation for what I was feeling in my heart."
'22', the album’s single that was released August 18 with a music video, is a prayer to the Creator about what it felt like to be kept alive while on her death bed at Mayo Hospital at age 22 while her life was in disarray and chaos.
Other tracks include 'I am a Warrior' on being called into spiritual service, 'Come in the Chamber' about the sacred space of prayer, and 'Found My Soul in the Dungeon', the title track, a piano instrumental, to bring the listener deeper into a meditative state.
