What a sound. What an amazing sound these guys make. It’s so crisp and smooth and simply beautiful. This is a wonderful classical album done by the brilliant All Souls Orchestra. The cover probably gives it away as being classical as its a photo of the amazing Royal Albert Hall in London, where the best of the best in classical music play. Yet even if you're not into that genre of music you have to appreciate how talented and amazing these guys are.
There are so many wonderful traditional songs on this album that are really really amazing. Songs you might know very well if you are into classical music. You might also recognise them as being used in adverts, there are enough familiar songs on here that even a novice like me would know them.
Then there are modern songs here that All Souls Orchestra are covering, songs like the Tim Hughes classic 'Here I Am To Worship', which sound sublime. A really wonderful moment for me, was hearing the song 'The Father Song' by Matt Redman, which is one of my favourite songs ever. This is a song that doesn’t get that much credit as a classic Redman song but is such a beautiful song and with the backing of the All Souls Orchestra is something truly magical.
My overall feeling about this album is how classy it is. This is a truly beautiful and heart-warming album which crosses over genres but still at the heart knows how to make stunning classical music.
