The new song is on a new EP Release "Outside The City", featuring his band (Josh Gilbert Band). "Shelter Of Love" is inspired by a true story about how God spared Josh and his band and touring van a few years back, when a tornado outbreak happened in Tennessee.
"I wrote this song shortly after the tornados came through Chattanooga, TN area several years ago; and a tree smashed right through the center of our van as it was parked after a tour! I and my band at the time had been touring and playing music across the country, and we didn't have much to our name outside of that van and our musical gear. I was tempted to give up playing music all together at that time -- but the Lord allowed me to step into a new season of trust and letting Him shape my character. And it's been ever since then that He has led me on a journey to keep singing, for He always has a plan when ours falls short. God will always use even the broken things -- us -- for His glory. It's in those storms that we can find out who (or what) we really build our lives on! Lord, may You always be the SHELTER and STRENGTH in my life -- no matter what comes my way!"
“Shelter Of Love” has a release date for radio of January 18, 2019 for radio and is available on all major music platforms including iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, and Amazon. The song was produced in Orlando, FL by Josh Gilbert & Keagan Fowler of E Studio (JOSHGILBERTMUSIC.COM)
Josh Gilbert is a Christian Singer-Songwriter & Band, with a sound drawing from Americana music and a variety of genres. Josh’s influences can be placed somewhere along Adult Contemporary Acts such as Phil Wickham, NeedToBreathe, Zach Williams & Jeremy Riddle; and even mainstream acts such as U2, & Johnnyswim. Hailing originally from TN, he has been touring and performing nationally and internationally for over 12 years, across the U.S. and Canada - with over 1,000 performances.
The Josh Gilbert Band members have included a network of friends, family & working musicians through the years -- all having a passion for the ministry to encourage people in their walk with the Lord, as well as reach the lost. "We write music - uncompromisingly - to share a testimony and the Gospel, to anyone who would listen. We often perform for not just churches and Christian events, but also secular stages as well, as we have a desire to share the Gospel with the 'un-churched'. Today's church culture has a growing movement of Musical Worship -- yet, worship, to me, is not just confined to times when we sing together, or in a Church building -- worship is a lifestyle; a constant communication and offering to be one with God in all things we do, leaving nothing out. Our hope (my music team and I) is that the world would see Christ not only in our music, but in our lives of worship and be drawn to the Savior."
