Read More Over the last few years, Urban Life Worship have been greatly impacting the worship landscape in the German-speaking world. In 2016, the band started exploring a multilingual concept called "Worshipsong Series“, releasing covers of internationally acclaimed worship songs in German.
With translations going from Bethel and Hillsong to Gateway Church, they have been embracing the wealth found in international expressions of worship. Their version of Rend Collective's "Boldly I Approach" ("Mutig Komm Ich Vor Den Thron" in German) remains their most popular release with almost 7 million views on YouTube and several million streams across various platforms. The song became widely popular amongst German-speaking countries and is still #1 on the CCLI charts in Germany.
This journey brought energy and momentum to the band as they worked on their compositions. “We are so happy about the partnership with Integrity and excited about the future projects that will come from it!” says Juri Friesen, worship leader at Urban Life Worship.
They recently penned their first in-house single, 'Ein Wort'. Built around the power of God's word - both spoken and Incarnate - the song burst with joyful pop sounds and an upbeat rhythmic pattern that show off the beauty of the German language. Band member Amy Jakucs, who lends her vocals on 'Ein Wort', also competed in The Voice Germany.
Markus Bonnert, European Marketing and Label Manager at Integrity Music shares, "What inspires us about Urban Life Worship is not only their creativity and energy but their passion for engaging people in worship with a sound that reflects their culture."
It is an honour for Integrity Music to come alongside Urban Life Worship at this stage, helping to push them forward in their creative pursuit of God for Germany and beyond. The band are working on new songs and are planning to release an EP later this year.
