"So many friends I see in such despair
They're reaching out for hopes and prayers
Although I'd like to lend a helping hand
I just don't think that I could change his plan
Live for today, we’re gone tomorrow
Let's make happiness and no more sorrow"
"The idea behind 'When Jesus Calls' was inspired by friends and family asking for prayers - in sickness and death - through their social media posts,” said the mainstay songwriter and performer Charles Parker. "I wrote from a songwriter’s perspective that Jesus needed me with him so that I could help share his message. The storyline is to say that if we answer his call, maybe we can make all of the world believe in his plan."
Set apart as distinct and contrast from anything the artist has written, “When Jesus Calls” follows Parker’s recent series of releases, “Love Is Us” and “Say Goodbye,” which ranked #73 and #86 on the charts, respectively. Parker also released the title track from his debut album BRING BACK THE SUN which became the first of the artist’s discography to reach radio charting at #81 on the MusicRow Country Music Breakout Chart.
