For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?
I've been singing since I was seven years old and started taking lessons locally. After doing that for a few years we started looking for more experienced coaches, and that's when my mom found Kira Fontana. Originally we only had planned a couple of vocal lessons but after our first lesson we knew it was a great fit, so we traveled to California to meet and that's how our relationship started. The timing was perfect because that is when Kira was just starting her own Christian music label and production company called Kingdom Sound- and I'm her first artist! We just released my first single "Shelter in the Storm" on May 5th, along with a music video.
Tell us about your new single 'Shelter In The Storm' and what the inspiration behind it was?
"Shelter in the Storm" is all about knowing that God is our refuge, and the Shelter in this storm that we are going through. It's knowing that we can lean on him even through the scariest time like this pandemic. During the writing process we were halfway through with what we thought would be our fifth song but felt God wanted us to put that song away for a moment and write about faith over fear and having confidence in HIM, so that is exactly what we did!
Do you have plans to release further music soon?
Yes! I will be releasing one song a month until the whole E.P comes out in September, which will include 5 songs.
What message would you like people to take from your music?
I want listeners to feel uplifted and positive!
How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?
My style of music is definitely Christian Pop, and my influences are Tori Kelly, Lauren Daigle, and NF in that we are all unique and spreading positivity!
If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?
I would choose Tori Kelly or Ed Sheeran - I love their style of writing and how each song tells a beautiful story.
How would you define success in your career as an artist?
I think success for me would be pointing people to God and doing His work... I hope to inspire people and give people hope and faith with songs God has given me.
What is your favorite album of all time?
My favorite album right now is Lost in wonder by Elle Limebear.
You're stuck on an island, it's hot, you only have enough battery life left to listen to one song on your phone. What track is it?
It would definitely be Rescue by Lauren Daigle (haha no pun intended)
What does the next year hold for you?
Right now I'm focusing on my E.P, as well as asking God for direction for what's to come!
