For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?
I started writing songs when I was 8 years old and I haven’t stopped ever since. I suppose I got involved informally with music when I was about 5 when my parents got me a tiny keyboard. I started to take lessons when I was 7.
Tell us about your new single 'Likely' and what the inspiration behind it was?
I have to admit that I wrote the track about 13 years ago, so I don’t actually remember the initial idea that came to me at the time. I guess I was at home, at my parents’ house, dabbling with the piano.
The video for this song is absolutely stunning, what was it like shooting it in such a beautiful setting?
I consider myself extremely lucky to live in such a wonderful place, but I believe that every country has its hidden pearls yet to be unveiled by a larger public.
What message would you like people to take from your music?
I believe that love is omnipresent, we just need to keep our eyes open, and to have faith and hope to recognize it.
How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?
My music is strongly inspired by classical music as I was trained to become a classical musician (pianist then singer) for many years. I have a particular liking for Russian composers from the romantic and post-romantic era.
If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?
I would really love to work with Max Martin, Ryan Tedder, Jack Antonoff or Mark Ronson one day. I think they are unbelievably talented. Please pass this on so that they might read this!
How would you define success in your career as an artist?
I don’t know. I believe success is addictive like a drug - you always need more to satisfy your craving and it’s never enough.
What is your favourite album of all time?
Could this be a pass, please? I’m not too proud of my streaming history.
You're stuck on an island, it's hot, you only have enough battery life left to listen to one song on your phone. What track is it?
Beethoven, 7th symphony, 2nd movement. Amen.
What does the next year hold for you?
Great question. I need to recharge my crystal ball first to answer that.
