The up tempo soulful drum n bass track is a song she wrote during the first lockdown in the UK, which speaks to the truth about Christ's dominion and unchangeable nature based on the scripture in Hebrews 13 v 8.
"The story behind this song is that the finalised version is probably the 5th or 6th version of an idea that has been bubbling up inside of me, from April 2020 onwards", explains Belinda.
"The first version was a slow song, with different lyrics. Then around July 2020, when the kids returned to school, I posted a video of an RnB/pop version on Instagram, again with different lyrics but still centred around the truth of God's unchangeable nature and the fact that even in the middle of a global pandemic, He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13 v 8).
However, although I liked the version I posted on Instagram in July 2020, something about that sound didn't quite sit right with me. It was not until one morning in August, when I woke up singing a melody to these lyrics " you are able to do more than I can imagine", that I knew I had found the sound for the theme which had been dropped in my spirit from the first peak of the coronavirus pandemic in the UK. I knew from that moment it was to be a soulful house/ drum and bass track."
For as long as Belinda can remember, she has had a deep passion for music and song writing. However, her passion for writing gospel music started when she became a Christian, whilst studying law at Liverpool University. Since then, Belinda has sung in gospel choirs and led worship in a number of churches which she has attended.
In 2020, Belinda released three songs through Homegrown Worship, two of which ("Try" and "I Will Go") reached the top 20 of the UK aStep Fwd competition in July and December and received radio play on Christian and secular radio stations as well as being playlisted all over the world.
Belinda seeks to bring a unique and fresh sound to Christian music which pushes boundaries and is centred on the gospel's message of hope through Christ.
