For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourselves and how you got involved in making music?
Jared started playing music at a young age of 5, learning drums and then piano, guitar, and others. Amber sang from a young age, setting up stages and performing for neighbors and friends. When we started dating in 2007, we began writing music together and have done so ever since.
Tell us about your single 'Rising' and what the inspiration behind it was?
We started seeing patterns in the church as a whole that were not aligning with scripture. And with many things going on in our country that are very much anti-God and the church letting so many things slide, we realized there needs to be a voice saying, “enough.” This is the call of Rising. Telling the church it’s time to pursue God’s holiness and spread His message.
Do you have any plans to release more music in the near future?
As far as new music, we are actually in the process of releasing a new album, still in recording stages. And writing new music everyday. We’re also in the process of writing a song as a “somewhat” sequel to “Rising.” Rising told us we need to rise up and fight. The next song is the next step- what does that look like?
What message would you like people to take from your music?
The main message from our music is two fold. The first is this; for the sinner, there is hope found in Christ for this life and the next. The second, for the church- this life is a battleground and God calls us to be holy not happy.
How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?
We are very happy that our style of music isn’t really stuck on one genre. We’ve done a mixture Blues Rock, Alternative, Pop, and even some folk style. We love exploring different areas of music but mainly fall into a modern rock sound, whatever that may be.
Our influences range from early Christian pioneers like Third day, Jars of Clay, and Skillet. Outside of the Christian realm our influences are in classic rock like Fleetwood Mac and Bon Jovi to more modern folk singers like The Civil Wars and Chris Stapleton and Needtobreathe.
If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?
There are two people we’d love to work with:
We’d love to collaborate with Mac Powell from Third Day. A lot of our music style came from growing up listening to Third Day. We are even writing a song with the thought that he could sing it. Mainly because Amber's voice could work well with his.
The second is to write with Casting Crowns. Of all CCM, their lyrics hold the most weight and truth to date. The way they can make words flow together well and still hold to truth is inspiring.
How would you define success in your career as an artist?
Success to us means that we’ve delivered the truth of Christ to people. It’s never made up of the money we’ve made or deals we can acquire.
What is your favorite album of all time?
We really don’t have a favorite album, we love assortments of different songs from many albums.
You're stuck on an island, it's hot, you only have enough battery life left to listen to one song on your phone. What track is it?
Realistically, we’d be calling for help with whatever battery we had left. Unrealistically, probably something like Livin on a Prayer by Bon Jovi or Urgent by Foreigner. Those seem fitting for the situation.
What does the next year hold for you?
We have plans to book more events and record more music than before. We hope more people will hear our music so the gospel of Christ will spread through that.
Bringing Home, the dynamic Christian band renowned for their messages of hope and salvation, has released the climactic final chapter and the music video of their riveting series for their hit single "Rising." This chapter seals…
