Flat River Band has been following The McCrary Sisters since day one of moving to Nashville. The three brothers used to learn a cappella songs from listening to The McCrary Sisters father “Reverend Samuel H. "Sam" McCrary”(1913-1991) who was the founding member of the Grammy award winning group “The Fairfield Four” when they we’re singing in their family band. The brothers are so thankful to have The McCrary Sisters sing back ground vocals on this release.
As Chad, Dennijo, and Andy Sitze (Flat River Band) started learning songs for their latest collection of songs, “Sights and Sounds” they had no clue what would transpire. They were rehearsing an old 1977 #1 hit from The Gatlin Brothers called “I Just Wish You Were Someone I Love”
After recording it, a friend of theirs said, "Hey let me get you the contact info for The Gatlin’s people. Y’all should send it to them," So they did. The brothers were prepared to pay "All the Gold in California" for the Gatlin’s to be apart of the song.
They waited patiently for the reply from The Gatlins and were blown away by the response, Larry Gatlin said he loved their version and would love to be apart of it... for free, just name the place and time. They recorded at Creative Workshop Studio in Nashville, TN, exactly where The Gatlin Brothers originally recorded 45 years ago. After going in the studio with The Gatlin’s, we threw the idea out there to do a music video. Larry, Steve, and Rudy were all on board. So the Sitze brothers reached out to Tootsies and they graciously gave them the green light to use the iconic bar.
