Jackslacks (aka Chris Giorgio) cut his teeth in quintessential California outfits Forbidden Pigs and Hot Rod Lincoln in the ‘80s & ‘90s, before going solo with the acclaimed, Lee Rocker-produced full-length, Rock ’n’ Roll Dinosaur. His 2021 LP, Inside Out, boasted a six-week run at #1 on the Roots Music Report’s Top Rockabilly Album Chart (and finished at #4 for the year).
Following up that humble success, Love & Unity, maintains Jackslacks’ tried ’n’ true “rocka-rocka” formula - that overall rockabilly groove, while reserving an alternative edge - with eight brand-spankin’-new tunes, plus a cover of the early 20th century gospel hymn, “Take My Hand, Precious Lord.” Fittingly, the nine songs were recorded in San Diego where he lives, mixed in his adopted hometown of Detroit, and finally, mastered in his birthplace, New York City.
Keep an ear out for guest spots from guitarists Tommy Byrnes (Stray Cats, Billy Joel) and Jerry "Hot Rod" DeMink (AC Reed, Billy Bacon), vocalist Jenna Esposito, multi-instrumentalist David Roof (Starlight Drifters, Nobody's Business) and Jackslacks’ own daughter, violin virtuoso/scholar, Taylor Giorgio.
