Solo artist Tramaine Long talks to Louder Than The Music about his two recent singles, 'Be Holy' and 'Can't Get Enough', and his forthcoming new album.

For those who haven't heard of you before, can you tell us a bit about yourself and how you got involved in making music?
Raised by my mother alongside my two sisters, my early years were deeply influenced by music. I started singing in the church choir at the age of 5 and by age 12 I was rapping with my brother. Music became an integral part of my life, and I went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University. Now as a licensed minister, producer, singer/songwriter and mixing engineer I thank God for being able to live out my purpose and make a positive impact.
Tell us about your recent singles 'Be Holy' & 'Can't Get Enough' and what the inspiration behind them was?
Wanting to honor God with my First Fruits, it was important to release singles that were personal to me and spoke to my relationship with God, my Father. 1 Peter 1:15-16 states but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” These verses inspired me to encourage people know to Be Holy, get in His presence and mediate on His word.
Those songs are taken from your forthcoming album, right? What more can you tell us about the album?
The Album “Legendary” was developed from understanding how God sees me. I wanted to put out a project that helped shape people’s mentality and understand their identity in Christ.
What message would you like people to take from your music?
I want people to feel inspired and the love of God. I pray my songs provide hope in difficult times and encourage people to find the strength to not give up.
How would you describe your style of music and what are your influences?
It is best categorized as a mix of Gospel Hip-Hop and R&B. Henceforth, I coined the term R&G, or Rhythm and Gospel to describe the unique blend of a R&B sound matched with faith infused messages. My biggest musical influences are Tank, Timberland, Ryan Leslie, Musiq Soulchild, Lecrae, John P. Kee and Fred Hammond.
If you could work with any songwriter, who would it be and why?
Lecrae. He is really talented and opened doors for Christian rappers and artist to have visibility on mainstream platforms.
How would you define success in your career as an artist?
My songs reaching the masses and people lives being transformed. If I can share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and people are drawn closer to God our Father than that is a win for the Kingdom of God.

What does the next year hold for you?
