In spring 2009 Empire Nation launched their debut album Airtight. Their modest aim is to change the world one riff at a time, using their faith, creativity and refusal to conform to the norm. They want to produce music that will make everyone from students to politicians sit up and take notice. To illuminate what matters, to reject the mundane, to live and play in the context of something bigger than a first impression: to challenge, create, magnify and amplify.
Empire Nation tailor their performance to each concert, incorporating worship, rock, or more secular vibes as the venue and audience require; a band with their feet on the ground that like to go the extra mile.
Their debut album 'Airtight' received great reviews, with LTTM saying "Empire Nation are a solid, creative band that you have to check out ASAP! If I was asked by a friend to name some great Christian British Independent bands, Empire Nation would have to be one of the first names on the list".
As the band prepared to unleash their second album, Empire Nation released the first of two singles, 'Fire Fall Down', as a FREE DOWNLOAD on Louder Than The Music. New album 'Closer' features a collaboration with singer/songwriter Philippa Hanna and is produced by Andy Baker of Resound Media.
"We're getting really excited about releasing 'Closer'" said the band's frontman Ed Bird. "This album is all about getting real with life and closer with God. We had a lot of fun filming the video for 'Fire Fall Down'. I won't give away too much now, but let's just say the video involved skateboarders, all kinds of dancers, and lots of sparks!"
