With a new album on the way, I felt it correct for me to review this single release of David Paul & The People's called The Sojourner from 2013 as excitement and anticipation to what is to come.
This song starts off as a gentle indie acoustic track that soon grows into a really enjoyable track with it's upbeat chorus. I love the driven nature and sound of the song, it feels like a good mix between artists like Badly Drawn Boy, Damien Rice, Snow Patrol, Keane and for me a little bit like The Divine Comedy mixed with Radiohead....

This song starts off as a gentle indie acoustic track that soon grows into a really enjoyable track with it's upbeat chorus. I love the driven nature and sound of the song, it feels like a good mix between artists like Badly Drawn Boy, Damien Rice, Snow Patrol, Keane and for me a little bit like The Divine Comedy mixed with Radiohead. All artists I like, so personally I instantly liked the song 'The Sojourner' and I think If you are a fan of guitar based music you will enjoy the music of David Paul & The People.
When I did a review of David Paul's debut album 'Signs of The Times' I said of it "It's raw and different, and a songwriters album" and this song is no different. The Sojourner has all the elements of a great songwriter song, with the writer pouring out their heart in a gentle but melodic way in song.
