Now this is my kind of music, melodic, creative and catchy rock that sometimes falls into the cool indie rock genre. This is what we get from An Epic, No Less and their new album 'Echo Of Love'.

Opening track We Need You starts off a bit like an Owl City track, and for me it can keep playing on my radio because I love it. It's what anybody would want from an opening track. This five piece just produce magic from the first listen... Ohh I just love it.
I suppose the Owl City inspiration keeps coming on the album, with track 'Caught Up In This Moment' being another solid rock pop track. Some nice drum work and a great melody make this a great track and this has to be the best two opening songs of an album in a long while.
Mercy Light is the big single off the album. "You're my mercy light in the darkest night... you're the sparks at dawn... Don't hide yourself from me" some great lines in the chorus. But the song just builds and builds into an epic track, "You are the light of the world and all we need now is you", I could keep singing that part of the song forever. Oozing out of these songs are some great guitar work and melodies that will have you going back for more.
The more I listen, the more I am falling in love with this album. Upbeat track We Believe has a great bass beat and the lines "You gave it all, You paid it all". This is a great Coldplay style modern pop sounding song and I'm sure it will sound great live. Echo Of Love has a bit more of a dramatic start, with a slightly distorted guitar tone. It doesn't take long to jump back to the synth lead verse, but in this track it's the chorus that pushes the song forward, with a bit more driven guitar to set the movement of the song. This is a great addition to the album and helps it to not fall into the trap of sounding too similar throughout.
I love the line "Yeah He is holding you, Yeah He is holding you", such simplicity and so effective that, I'm not going to lie to you, nearly brought me to tears, and I don't say things like that lightly. This comes in the worship track Come To The Cross, which as you can tell from the title, is about what Jesus did for us at the Cross.
The worshipful lyrics mixed with modern pop rock sounds continues in tracks like Rescue Me, which has an epic chorus, and Bright White Light which has a softer approach but still keeping with the vibe of the whole album. The album ends with the most beautiful piece of music I have heard for a while, Your love Is Louder which can only be described as Epic. I think I'll play that one again and again.
It may not come as a surprise, but this album gets top marks from me and the reason is that the moment it finished I wanted to listen again. As the album went on I found myself saying, this is the best track on the album, then during the next song I said the same. An Epic No Less do sound a bit like the amazing Owl City, but this is a band in its own right who are writing stunning songs that are melodic, catchy and heartfelt. You can't ask for more from an album.
