'The Secret Is Jesus' is the new album from talented singer/songwriter Jonathan Shelton. This is Jonathan's second album, with his debut 'Provisions Of Heaven' being released back in 2005.
The album starts with a big and bold organ. The first track on the album, 'Listen', is a mid tempo rock worship song. With a steady drum beat and some beautiful piano throughout this is a steady song to kick start the album.

The tempo is raised for 'Let Your Presence Fall' which again has a sturdy fast tempo drum beat and some nice vocals. What Love Is This is a very poppy number with some really great sounds and a chorus that has some great honest lyrics.
It's during tracks like As Long As You Are Here that we hear the best in Jonathan Shelton. This beautiful ballad has elements of drama and even a theatrical feel to it. This song could easily have made it onto a West End Show. Jonathan's vocal keeps up with the epic music that is going on through the whole album.
This whole theatrical style also comes out in I Long To See Jesus and again for me it's another standout track. This track flows and you just get lost in the song as it washes over you.
The quality of the whole album is of a very high standard, not only does Jonathan have great songs like 'Never Let You Go' and 'The Secret' (you really have to listen to this one), but he also has great music to accompany his singing. I'm sure Jonathan will be very proud of the songs on this album, and so he should be. 'The Secret' is an epic tune and well worth listening to the whole of the album just to hear the quality of this track.
If you are a fan of artists like Lara Martin, Stuart Townend, Graham Kendrick and Stuart Pendred, then Jonathan Shelton's album is well worth checking out. Jonathan has written an album that will be loved by people who enjoy songs that have a bit of drama and storytelling to them. Jonathan is a great writer and loves to talk about God's grace, and this comes across on all of the songs on this great album.
