Tom Read Releasing 'Stabal Session (Live)'
Tom Read, a singer-songwriter, based in Oxford, UK, who has written and collaborated with many western and Asian artists, as well as performing and releasing his own music, has released his new single 'Dead Things To Life' ahead of the release of his new live album 'Stabal Session' on 27th November 2020.
"Way back in March, just before lockdown hit, I was able to record a live session with the great people at STABAL", explains Tom. "The full album will be released next week, and you can hear the first single, Dead Things To Life, right now on all streaming platforms. With everything going on in the world right now, this song is still my prayer and hope for the future."
In 2013, his solo album Compass reached #1 on the iTunes album charts in Hong Kong, and stayed in the Top 20 for 2 weeks. The album also charted in both the UK and US iTunes Top 100 albums. Tom has also co-written both for and with established and emerging artists alike. Most notably, in 2013 his song From Ashes To Beauty was cut by Asian pop star Sammi Cheng on her multi-platinum selling album, Love is Love.
In 2016 he also started to release new music under the name Chariots, with the debut single 'Dreaming As We Go' receiving radio airplay across the UK including on BBC Introducing. In September 2016, his CHARIOTS EP was nominated for 'Best Album / EP of the Year' at the Unsigned Music Awards 2016, selected out of over 3000 entries by a panel of 80 music industry experts including presenters, producers, and editors from BBC, MTV, PRS, The Guardian, Sony Music and others.
In 2018, Tom released 'Lament'. A collection of songs 5 years in the making- Lament explores this under discussed expression through a heart wrenching journey of honest and raw lyricism, set to a dynamic and engaging soundscape. In May 2018, the single 'Dead Things To Life' went to #1 on the UK Christian Chart.
