Jan Blaising Releases New Single 'It Wasn't a Silent Night After All'

Jan Blaising releases her new single 'It Wasn't a Silent Night After All', a Christmas song that retells the Christmas story, emphasizing that God often chooses the most unlikely people, in the most unlikely places, with the most unlikely worldly power - especially on that holy night when God came to earth in the form of a baby. 'It Wasn’t a Silent Night After All' is also one of the songs on Jan’s upcoming EP, 'Faith, Hope and Love', scheduled for release early in the new year.

Jan Blaising grew up skipping rocks in Indiana - a preacher’s daughter with a rebel’s heart. Her first songs were red Crayola scratch marks on her blue notebook of staff paper so Jan could remember her songs. Though Jan’s had her share of reasons to stop believing, this rebel heart has finally come home to her faith in God, in her debut EP, Faith, Hope and Love.

Graduating from Crayolas to crafting songs, Jan’s new song, Mountaintops and Oceans, won an award for “Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting” in the 2019 Great American Songwriting Contest in the “Christian/Inspirational” category.

Jan Blaising’s spiritual songs bring listeners on a journey where they discover important truths about God in fresh and accessible ways. Jan offers warm, lovely, uplifting anthems for the spirit, often with bold melodies and inspiring Choruses and memorable “hooks,” and provides listeners with thought-provoking lyrics that linger in their hearts, minds, and souls long after they are heard.

Jan’s influences are Sara Groves, Audrey Assad, JJ Heller, with long-time influences of James Taylor, Carole King, and Beth Nielson Chapman, as well as the realm of classical music from her excellent training as a pianist and a vocalist.
