If you loved volume 1 of a Rend Christmas then you will love this, with stunning up-tempo versions of songs like 'Little Drummer Boy', an acoustic and atmospheric version of 'Silent Night', a soft and haunting version of 'In The Bleak Mindwinter', and a song I was never a massive fan of before, 'We Three Kings'. But this Rend version I adore and the Rend Christmas magic dust has really worked for me on this track.
The album ends with a Rend inspired version of 'Love Is All Around', by Wet Wet Wet, but this version is the one changed and written for the movie Love Actually, called 'Christmas Is All Around' which mixes so much together but with this version it takes on another lease of life.
No other band could write and record songs like this, but again Rend have hit the Christmas nail on the head with their distinctive style and sounds and unique take on these songs. Merry Christmas from Rend!
