CalledOut Music Wins 2020 MOBO Award

Dec 10 2020

Calledout Music was last night announced as the winner of the Best Gospel Act at the 2020 MOBO Awards. The singer/songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Hampshire England, real name Samuel Nwachukwu, was up against fellow Gospel Artists Noel Robinson, Guvna B, The Kingdom Choir and Shekinah in the Best Gospel Act category.

Taking to social media to celebrate the award, Calledout Music wrote, "Four years ago, my manager and I took a leap of faith and released my first single... Four years later, I've just won a MOBO Award. I’m beyond Humbled!"

His singles and EP'ss are still enjoying major success on streaming platforms across the world. The MOBO Award win comes two weeks after taking home 'Best Gospel' at the UK Entertainment Awards.

While the world faces a global pandemic, the popular MOBO awards proceeded to do their show virtually for the first time in the shows history. Hosted by Maya Jama and Chunkz, CalledOut Music joined the elite group of UK gospel greats who have picked up this award in the past years, Raymond and Co, Rachel Kerr, Guvna B, FaithChild, Lurine Cato, New Ye, Triple O and many more. It has been an amazing year for CalledOut Music and his label HFP Music with the release of his second EP, 'Portraits' in April, two singles 'Joy' and 'Otherside', a headline virtual concert and a combined total of 6.4 millions streams on Spotify alone.

Speaking to HFP MusicCity, CalledOut Music said, "I get to the end of every year thinking... ‘how can next year be better than this?’ God leaves me speechless every time. The way 2020 has ended is better than any best case scenario I could've dreamt of. When I saw the nomination, I was elated to be recognised for my art amongst so many incredible artists and musicians, to win it is just mind-blowing. Thanks to the Mobo’s for recognising Faith based creatives like myself on a grand stage."
