Gav Brown's 'Jesus' Nominated for WAM Song Of The Year
Perth, Australia, Singer Songwriter Gav Brown has been nominated for 2021 WAM Song of the Year for his song Jesus in the World Music Category.
The song is taken from his 'Shoalhaven' album which follows on from the successful 'Sound Circus' and 'Road Less Travelled' albums with a number of Charting songs in the UK Hotdisc Charts and the Tasmanian Country charts including Railroad track which was number 1. In the Hotdisc UK charts for 3 weeks.
The track includes an African choir and great guitar solo by renowned guitarist Kristian Borring and produced by Charlie Young at Crank Recording.
With his soulful mix of country-rock, folk and pop, singer/songwriter Gav Brown has performed around Australia, New Zealand, USA, Hong Kong and Singapore.
A regular on the live music scene in his hometown Perth, Western Australia, Gav is a skilled multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, banjo, piano, harmonica, mandolin, cigar-box guitar and ukulele to craft music capturing the spirit of a traveller. Gav’s passion for song has deep roots in the music of George Gershwin, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, James Taylor, Carlos Santana and John Mayer and he has been compared to Tom Waits, The Pogues and Dave Alvin.
The track is a tribute to the Christian communities and churches who do so much good for their communities and also to Gav’s producer Charlie Young a Christian who lost his life in a diving accident in 2019. The 'Shoalhaven' album was named after Charlies favorite place the Shoalhaven marine park.
