Rick Lee James Releasing New Single 'Shine A Light In The Darkness'
Acclaimed singer/songwriter/podcast host and author Rick Lee James premieres his new single and music video for 'Shine A Light In The Darkness' on July 23rd.
Directed and edited by Jason Elam for Agape Media, the video features James and his band performing at the Vineyard Church BeaverCreek, Ohio, and incorporates a light filled audio and visual experience. “Shine A Light In The Darkness” is releasing to Christian radio with an impact date of July 23rd, 2021.
“I wrote this song after reading about the high amount of disinformation that was spreading among many evangelical churches in the United States” James shares. “As I thought about moments of hypocrisy in my own life, I realized that the song would work best as a call from Jesus to his people to repent; to be light in the darkness. Even though I’m the one singing the words, I’m I am not excluded from the call to repent and to be light again.”
Drawing musical comparisons to the artists like John Mellencamp and Tom Petty, “Shine A Light In The Darkness” is an upbeat, fun, guitar driven song made to be played loud.
“Shine A Light In The Darkness” is one of two new stand alone singles and is the first song James has released since his critically acclaimed 2019 album, Thunder. James’ other new song “You Are My Salvation” released on June 25th to all streaming platforms.
