What stood out for me when I pressed play on this new song was how simple and relaxing this song was, I did feel at ease and relaxed when I pressed played, this was helped by the harmonies in this song, which are truly "hair standing up on end of your arms" kind of stuff. So Elias has definitely hit all the important points.

“Let’s face it, many of us are tired; we’re addicted to worry; and we’ve got the weight of the world on our shoulders,” says Elias Dummer in the press release for this single. “If there is true rest to be had, we need it - I need it. We often act like worship is this thing filled with bravado and bluster. This isn’t that. ‘The Gospel Is Rest’ is a simple, prayerful recognition that sometimes we’re just tired people still learning to let go."

For someone like myself who suffers badly with anxiety and finds it hard to stop, what I do to counteract that is to keep myself busy and on the go, a song like this is well needed. Even on a completely personal and honest level, I needed to hear this song. I felt a real sense of peace when hearing this, did it stop me rushing around trying to do everything after the song stopped in my headphones? Well yes and no. Dealing with anxiety is not an easy quick fix and there are many great websites that can help you if that is an issue for you, but this song reminds us we do need to stop and take a breath with God at our side. Elias here has given us a tool to help us with finding a little bit of rest and with this track he really has managed to produce something we all need, Rest.
