BT Worship Reminds Listeners Of The Overcoming Power Of Jesus In New Single 'Overcame'

Nov 07 2021

BT Worship reminds listeners of the overcoming power of Jesus in their latest release, Overcame.

Inspired by CS Lewis' Mere Christianity, Overcame was written over the course of two years by writers Gabriel Alvarado, Samantha Alvarado and Ruben Palomo as a timely reminder of what Jesus accomplished through His death and resurrection.

“This song was written as a reminder that Christ's victory gives us an opportunity to experience the fullness of life,” says Nidia Quintanilla, Worship Pastor for BT.Church. “Because Jesus has overcome death and made a way for us to come to the Father, we get to return into an intimate relationship with God, and that is real eternal life.”

Sitting on three simple chords in 6/8 meter, Overcame builds beautifully and pulls in the listener with captivating vocal harmonies, powerful guitars, and driving drums. Gabriel Alvarado and Palomo also make their debut as producers on the track.

And as a celebration of the work of Jesus in the lives of those who trust him, Overcame is an uplifting reminder that the power of Jesus cannot be equaled.

“This song is a powerful expression of worship to a God who is mighty, powerful, wonderful, and the reason we get to experience life to the fullest. Before we ask God to help us overcome a situation, we want to sing about the One who overcame the cross and the grave to pay for the debt we owe in order for us to find everlasting life in Him,” says Quintanilla. “We are praying that as people listen and are drawn into the song, they are inspired to respond in worship because of what He has done for us. Because He overcame, we can overcome as well, no matter what we face.”
