British worship leader Lou Fellingham has released a hymns album titled 'Lean on the Everlasting Arms'. The album features 13 hymns, sung and played by Lou and Nathan Fellingham, including 'Great is Thy Faithfulness', 'Everlasting Arms', 'Praise my Soul the King of Heaven', 'My Hope is Built', 'When I Survey' and 'To God Be the Glory'.

"Lockdown has created so many challenges, but for us, being able to regularly worship together in our home, and to be able to invite people to join us through live streaming has been an incredible blessing amid the difficulty", explains Lou.
"We felt that recording a collection of hymns, in the style that we have been using week by week in Come and Sing and now Worship Wednesdays, would be something that might be appreciated. So Nathan set about constructing the arrangements on the piano".
And can I say personally that this album is really appreciated. Lou and Nathan are powerhouses who have produced so many great original songs over the years, but here they have put their own spin on these classic hymns. But they have kept to the heart to these hymns, not distracting from the power of these songs. You're not going to get a jazz version of "Holy Holy Holy" or a techno version 'O For A Thousand Tongues' (thank goodness!), what Lou and Nathan have done here is produce an album that lets their voices and a piano lead these amazing songs. They both know that is where you can really appreciate these worship songs, these hymns at their best, and what is lovely is that they do it beautifully on this album.
If you are looking for an album that has two great distinctive vocalists who together work so well, who have wonderfully and brilliantly picked some of the best known hymns, and that have arranged them with a gentle piano tone so elegantly - then this album is a must! As this album is called Hymns, Vol 1 then I wonder if we will see a Volume 2 in the near future, I do hope so, but until then this album is perfect.
