Winners of the UK's biggest celebration of Black music and culture, the MOBO Awards, were announced on Sunday 5 December 2021. Following last year’s much buzzed-about livestream show, the prestigious awards ceremony returned to its rightful live show format.
"Didn’t make it as a footballer but still managed to bag a hat-trick. 3-time MOBO Awards winner!" wrote Guvna B on Facebook following the ceremony.
Guvna B has released 10 albums and in addition to his three MOBO Awards for Best Gospel Act; he was also won three Urban Music Awards for Best Gospel Act or Artist; and a Gospel Music Award for Best Gospel Artist. He was the first rapper to top the UK’s official Christian & Gospel albums chart with 2013's 'Odd1Out'.
Earlier this year Guvna B releases his latest album 'everywhere + nowhere'. He has played the O2 Arena, Wembley Stadium and toured through North America, Australasia, Africa and Europe. He has also shared stages with the likes of Stormzy, Lecrae, and Rend Collective.
“My upbringing inspired me to want to make a positive impact through music. The negative things I saw around me inspired me to do better and inspire people to be the best they can be instead of becoming stereotypical products of a negative environment.”
