UK Worship Leader Dave Bell has released his new single 'In The Waiting', available now on all streaming platforms. The new song follows his recent single, 'Fly', with both track being written by Dave Bell and Chris Eaton. A third single, 'God's Got This' will be released on Friday 30th September.
"I'm so excited to announce that I am releasing a brand new version of 'In The Waiting'", reveals Dave Bell. "I think this has to be one of my favourite songs that Chris Eaton and I have ever written. I wrote this when thinking about some of my journey along with some family members who are having health challenges. It's very raw, honest and maybe a subject we don’t tend to write about.
If you’ve ever been to London and traveled on the famous London Underground you will often hear the announcement when you are waiting for the next train. 'Train Approaching... Please Mind the Gap'. And that got me thinking... We are living in the gap between two kingdoms. When Jesus walked on this Earth 2000 years ago the gap was closed. Then as He ascends to be with the Father the bible says the kingdom of heaven is a hand and not yet here in all of its fullness, meaning you and I are left to mind the gap.
Living in the gap for many of us means we are in the waiting for something. Living in that constant tension of mystery but also miracles. Maybe you’re waiting for a loved one to walk back through those church doors and come home. Waiting for a husband or wife. Waiting for a diagnosis... Waiting for a healing... or simply waiting for the words that have been spoken over you to come to pass.
I want you to know today that waiting time is never wasted time, and when I look at the bible, Abraham waited for 25 years. Joseph waited 13 years. Moses waited 25 years. Jesus waited 30 years. If God makes you wait, you are in good company!
So as you listen to this song today... know that He's with you in your waiting."
Dave attended music college and has become a worship leader, song writer and has the honour of being the Worship Pastor of Alive Church, a multi-site church in the UK.
