Blessing Offor Releases Debut Album 'My Tribe'
At long last, No. 1 singer / multi-instrumentalist Blessing Offor has released his full length debut My Tribe, available on all major music platforms today. Blessing takes the themes introduced on his Brighter Days EP, and fully dives in with a sense of optimism, swagger, groove, and authenticity. A blend of realism and hope serve as the backdrop for this 16-track record -an honest accounting of Blessing’s singular life experience, and his unique journey to the heart of Music City and beyond.
“This record feels like the end of the beginning of my career. I’ve been working hard for years now to get to this moment and My Tribe - the project and the people - make it all worthwhile 1000 times over,” Blessing claims. “I think there’s something uniquely universal and beautiful about the highs and lows of life and those feelings that we all experience. I’m proud to share my perspective of those things and I hope that no matter where you are, you’re able to find yourself somewhere on this record.”
On My Tribe Blessing brings together a confluence of soul, pop, R&B, and African music with some extra special flavoring that only the Nigerian-born, Nashville based singer/songwriter can provide. With expert musicianship, sterling vocal performances, and love for his roots in his heart, Blessing has created an album that is a mirrored reflection of himself and his story. The single “My Tribe” features some of Blessing’s most percussive and danceable moments, while “Your Love” features some of his most heartfelt. “What A World (Akwa Uwa) Pt. 1 & 2” weaves a direct connection to Blessing’s homeland, giving the listener a glimpse into the Igbo (his native Nigerian tribe) philosophy which still informs his worldview today.
Since the release of his debut EP Brighter Days, Blessing has been named both an Amazon Breakthrough Artist of 2023 and Pandora Artist To Watch in 2023. He’s quickly established himself as an artist’s artist, an authentic songwriter and virtuoso musician. His EP’s title track soared up the charts, a bonafide hit that hit #2 on the Billboard Christian Airplay charts and stayed there for 7 weeks. Its success even saw Kelly Clarkson come calling, offering a slot on her show - his national television debut. This was quickly followed by his first radio No. 1 - “The Goodness” (TobyMac feat. Blessing Offor). The confluence of musical styles and lyrical content in his repertoire have created a first-rate gumbo dubbed, “the genre of humanity,” as Blessing explores themes of humanity and connection on his debut album My Tribe, now available everywhere.
