JD Walker Drops 'From The Devil To The Cross' Ahead of Sophomore Album
Christian country artist JD Walker brings a powerful real truth on his new single From The Devil To The Cross - available on all streaming platforms April 5, 2023. In addition, over the course of the year, he will release a new single every month until the full album, Deeper Than Blood is available on all platforms. The 11-track collection includes standout track “Too Far From Heaven” alongside heart shattering numbers such as “Your Knees To The Floor”, and the title track “Deeper Than Blood” & more.
JD Walker shares what led him to cut From The Devil To The Cross “When I hear a song that hits me to my core, I have a hard time singing it because I get emotional. When I heard it, I knew I wanted to record it because it sounded like my journey. The dark roads I traveled down when I was running from God only to have him right there beside me all along.”
Deeper Than Blood follows his 2016 debut EP Too Far From Heaven, which the title track surpassed over 2 million video views on Reverb Nation. The album also debuted on the Music Row charts at #149 ultimately peaking at #84 with no huge promotion campaign. From The Devil To The Cross was penned by veteran songwriter Rick Tiger, a friend of Walker, who has had cuts with Montgomery Gentry, Joe Nichols, The Del McCoury Band, Jeff Bates and Western Flyer to name a few. Tiger thought that the track would be perfect for him.
Walker shares “That’s one of the reasons why this album took so long to record because I ended up getting all these great songs, so I put aside a few of mine to record these amazing songs by Rick.”
