Kelly Wayne Releases Debut Album 'Only You' Produced by American Idol's Chris Sligh
Kelly Wayne, a new indie Christian artist from Florida, releases his debut album 'Only You' on Good Friday, 7th April. Last Febuary, Kelly wrote a song titled "Hand In Hand With Christ" and Kelly was chosen to be the semi-finalist in the "Song of The Year Songwriting Contest in 2022."
"Hand In Hand With Christ" was writen about his dad who was diagnosed with lung cancer in Dec. 2021 and passed away that Jan. 2022. The song captures the changing heart of a man in his last days by the hand of God. Shortly after Kelly's dad passed away, his mother was diagnosed with lung cancer and Kelly's mother went home to be with the Lord a short time later in July 2022. He wrote a beautiful song titled "Castle Far Away" as a tribute to his mother.
After the loss of both his parents, Kelly continued writing songs when finally during the summer of 2022, the Lord inspired Kelly to record his debut album "Only You." Kelly reached out and hired American Idol Star, "Chris Sligh" to produce what has become an amazing studio album.
The album has a mixture of inspiring lyrics and powerful melodies that harmoniously draws you into the song and pulls on your heart strings. A song titled, "Just Like The Rain" was writen from the words God spoke to Kelly when he was heartbroken in November 2018. Not long after that in January 2019, Kelly dedicated that "Just Like The Rain" to the 5 beautiful women that lost their lives inside the SunTrust Bank in Sebring, Fl. where Kelly was a daily customer and friends with several of the ladies. "Just Like The Rain" was also offered a publishing deal in Nashville, but Kelly temporarily declined the offer for now in order to allow God to have His way with the song and launch it into the world.
Kelly also operates a business in Sebring, Fl., co-pastors a church in Pakistan via FaceTime. He helped build a fresh water osmosis well in Punjab, Pakistan in 2022 that brings fresh water to almost 15,000 people. With the help of the Senior Pastor Khurram Shahzad of Spiritual Life Ministry Pakaistan, they maintain the well and hold regular prayer meetings, collect blankets in the winter for people and food and clothing throught the year. They normally feed several hundred people during their prayer meetings.
