Jul 07 2023

From The Ground Up, a brand new British Indie Christian 4 piece band from Manchester, are releasing their debut single on 7th July called 'Open Arms'.

The band have a collective ambition to write quality authentic songs that bring glory to God. "After tragically losing our Dad to Covid-19 in December 2020, out of a place of grief, hurt and despair, we decided to start From The Ground Up. It helped us to keep our eyes fixed on God through the trials we were going through", they explain.

"We wrote songs of worship and adoration. Songs that pulled us through the dark place, and moved us closer into the light. It gave us the living hope that one day we would be reunited and that through his sacrifice. we are born again, into a new and exciting adventure. With an eclectic mixture of influences and styles. FTGU is not bound by one particular sound, but instead writing in freedom and with God at the centre.

Our debut single is a song of acceptance and pursuit. About finding our identity in God, and declaring our commitment to Him. "Open Arms' is an upbeat guitar led track, with a lively, and inspiring melody. The lyrics speak about the experience of hearing God through the noise and seeing him through the fog Being inspired by the image of the prodigal son, and what that means in our lives.

'Open Arms' starts with uplifting synths, and finishing with a driving declaration for us to run into the Father's arms It takes the listener from a place of apathy, straight to the Father. We believe that there, our perspective and agenda changes, and we become renewed in him."
