Chidiya Ohiagu Releases 'Mess into a Message'
Chidiya Ohiagu (pronounced CHI-dee-yah), an independent singer-songwriter and worship artist born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, has released his new album 'Mess into a Message'.
Chidiya grew up listening to a variety of music from pop to soul and R&B, Afrobeat to classical and gospel. His father’s love for music inspired him from a young age, leading him to sing in choirs and fall in love with harmony, smooth vocals, and varied musical styles. Since 2019, he has released multiple projects including his breakout single in 2022 called “Already Blessed,” which now has over 1.5 million streams across multiple platforms and was featured on multiple top playlists including Top Christian Contemporary Music on Spotify. He was also a semi-finalist in the 2022 International Songwriting Competition with the same song.
He re-released the original Already Blessed with award winning artist and song writer, Chris Cleveland (Stars Go Dim) in 2023, which was also well received and featured on Fresh Gospel Africa, New Music Friday Christian, Top Christian Hits and several other Spotify playlists. Also in 2023, he was one of the featured artists on “Community”, a 15 song project by the Writing Worship Community, recorded in Nashville Tennessee, and an active part of the project.
Chidiya’s faith in God is what fuels his music and his heart’s desire is to be a conduit for God to flow through and to empower believers everywhere to live joyful, Spirit-filled lives.
His latest release, “Mess into a Message” is a song of testimony! No matter what trials or difficulties we face, when we walk with God, He can turn any test into a testimony of His goodness. We see this throughout scripture in stories like Ruth, Joseph, Esther, David, and of course the biggest example, Jesus Christ. When the enemy thought he had triumphed over Christ, He rose from the dead and turned that mess into a message that has changed the world forever!
