Shanteh Unveils Highly Anticipated Album 'Breath'
SHANTÉH, the innovative and soulful artist, is set to release her much-anticipated album, "Breath," on July 7th, 2024. Known for her unique approach to music, this groundbreaking album showcases SHANTÉH’s superior ability to freestyle songs inspired by scriptures from the Holy Bible, creating lyrics, beats, and melodies spontaneously at her live shows using just her voice and her trusty Boss VE20 loop pedal.
"Breath" features 13 powerful tracks, each imbued with spiritual depth and musical ingenuity. The album's overarching theme is based on Psalm 150:6, “Let everything that hath breath, praise The Lord. Praise ye The Lord.” celebrating the universal call to praise. The first single, ”Breath," released on April 7th, 2024, draws inspiration from Psalm 39:4-5 and sets the tone for the album's reflective and worshipful nature.
Following the debut single, SHANTÉH released two more compelling tracks. ”Exodus," inspired by Exodus 14:15, came out on May 5th, 2024, and "El," based on Mark 6:9-14 (The Lord's Prayer), was released on June 2nd, 2024. Each single has garnered critical acclaim and resonated deeply with listeners, building anticipation for the full album release.
To celebrate the release, SHANTÉH will host an exclusive album listening party on June 30th, 2024, at Goldsmiths' Student Union. The event will be hosted by renowned DJ and producer, Intalekt, promising an unforgettable evening of music and fellowship.
SHANTÉH, artist, songwriter and producer from South London is no stranger to the music industry, having provided vocals and penmanship for stars such as Emeli Sandé, Lukas Graham, Brandon Beal and Ann Nesby. She’s one of the lead vocalists for South East London Afro Jazz collective, Steam Down and a lead vocalist for the UK Colombian jazz collective, Mestizo. She is known for her exceptional talent in blending freestyle, scripture, and live looping. Her music transcends genres, offering a refreshing and spiritually uplifting experience.
